Did you know that the Archangel Raphael is the patron saint of the blind (including many other very good things, because Archangels are really really good and we are lucky to know them).
Well, I am blind so I was given my name in his honor. You see, I was born that way. It’s ok. Please don’t say, “aww poor little guy.” Being blind I hear and smell and taste and feel things much more profoundly. I am still very small, but I’m honored to be included in the “Big Boys and Girls” category because I plan to become very big.
My mama was a first time mom, and was a little confused about what to do with me. We could not go out with the other big cows, because I was going to be trampled. My mama even trampled me once. She really wanted to go back outside with all the other cows. I felt a little sad when she didn’t even wave goodbye to me, but mooed her way as she lumbered down the hill to the big herd. But you see, on my funny and strange drive home, a lady stroked my fur and spoke softly to me the whole time and I knew that everything would be ok. My mama’s nickname was “Sheep.” Well, my new mama who has adopted me and watches over me IS a sheep (which is much better than being named “sheep”. Her name is Raindrop. I love her and she loves me.
I love the feel of sunshine, and I love sharing some mashed food with Raindrop. Recently Michelle the sheep, who is also blind, joined us and she and I are learning to get along very nicely.
I hope that people will sponsor me. I have had some vet expenses and I may need some more visits from the vet and the ophthalmologist (that is a big word for a little guy, but I’m smart!).
