Born approximately September, 2003
Ti-gba was found almost dead in the streets of Port-au-Prince. She had been run over and was at an extreme level of starvation. Infested by parasites both inside and out, all bones showing, and only able to drag herself by her front legs (everything in back was broken), she nevertheless showed a fierce desire to live. We brought her back to the U.S. on American Airlines, and within a week she was on the operating table. A plate was put into one badly broken leg, but because she only weighed 5 pounds and was growing so fast on her new good diet, the muscles grew and scarred over too fast, resulting in a “peg leg”. Despite her disability, she runs faster than any animal on the farm. She is highly intelligent, funny, naughty, and a constant joy and irritation to everyone who knows her.
