Announcing a new series of monthly classes at Star Gazing Farm
Star Gazing Farm is launching a series of educational seminars to be held in our newly renovated studio (wheelchair accessible). These events are geared towards those interested in animal care, welfare, and gentle craftwork. The classes will be taught by local experts in their field. Come and enjoy an afternoon in the country while learning something new!

- Introduction to Drawing Animals, Sunday, August 6, 1-4 pm

Cost: $25
Taught by author Sallye Mahan-Cox, this class is for all of you who say "I don't know how to draw"! You will learn how to form shapes that make sense, and will practice using some of the farm's animals as models.
- Introduction to wool and spinning with a drop spindle, Sunday, September 17, 1-4 pm
Cost: $25
Taught by Farmer Anne, this class will teach you about the basics of how wool is grown. You will learn about different types of fleece, how to wash raw wool and card it, and you will get to feel the fleece from many different breeds of sheep. About half of the class will be spent on learning how to spin yarn from a drop spindle.

Most classes are limited to 8-10 participants and are held inside the studio. Optional tours of the farm to meet the animals are held afterwards.
