Our medical fund is a dedicated account to pay for both regular veterinary medical treatment as well as emergencies. While we ourselves do as much of the regular veterinary and animal care maintenance as possible, and work with the young volunteers at the farm every weekend teaching them these skills (hoof trimming, administering oral medications, giving shots, etc.), we also must rely on the expertise of veterinarians.
Because many of the animals at the farm are older or in compromised health, it's even more important that we have the resources available to ensure that we can always provide excellent and professional care.
